Springtime is finally here to stay. And although the newest season brings along budding flowers and warm temperatures, it also brings along dreaded springtime allergies. If you think the only way to manage your symptoms is by taking an antihistamine, think again! Try out a few of these natural remedies to help manage your symptoms.

Sweet honey.
If pollen has you sneezing and your eyes watering, stop by your local farmers market and pick up raw local honey. Whether you drop some into a hot cup of tea or eat it plain, aim for three to four tablespoons a day.

Sage.
Did you know sage is a natural antiseptic and astringent? If your throat is scratchy and irritated from your allergies, try soothing it by dropping dried or fresh sage in boiling water, letting it cool and then gargling.

Turn up the heat.
Spices only job isn't to give your food a kick. They can also be used to move mucus and break up fluid that may be causing congestion. If you're suffering from congestion this allergy season, be sure to add some hot sauce to your meals.

If these natural remedies don't work, it may be time to give Florida Ear Nose Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery Center a call. We can be reached by calling 877-EAR-NOSE. For more information on all of our services, visit www.floridaent.com.

When it comes to facial plastic surgery, there are a lot of myths floating around out there. You might have heard that nose jobs can melt. Or perhaps you've heard Botox injections will leave you expressionless for life. We're here to break down whats fact and whats fiction when it comes to rhinoplasty!

Fact or Fiction: Can rhinoplasty affect your sense of smell?
This is a fact! However, loss of smell is only temporary following this procedure. It should be back to normal within 3-6 weeks.

Fact or Fiction: Can rhinoplasty affect my voice?
This is fact, as well. Although the changes are almost undetectable, it still can change.

Fact or Fiction: My nose will look different right away.
This is fiction. The nose you desire will not appear the way you envision it for up to a year following surgery.

Fact or Fiction: You have to reach skeletal maturity to receive rhinoplasty.
This is a fact. Skeletal maturity means that your bones are fully developed. This usually doesn't happen for females until about age 14-15 and age 15 at minimum for males.

If you have any questions about rhinoplasty, the team at Florida Ear Nose Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery is here to help you at anytime! To schedule an appointment, give us a call at 877-EAR-NOSE! For additonal information about our rhinoplasty services, visit www.floridaent.com.
